The only UK-grown organic certified Reishi Mushroom Tincture. All our mushrooms are grown on an organic mushroom farm in the green county of Somerset UK, and are certified by the Soil Association. Our organic functional mushroom tinctures are triple extracted with distilled water and organic UK ethanol.

Our Reishi is grown on our organic mushroom farm, where we crop almost half a ton per month. We also prepare the tinctures and pack the orders in-house - meaning origin can be traced back to one location in the clean green pastures of Somerset with absolutely no tampering by third parties.

 

Triple Extracted, 1: 4 Ratio (Super Strength)

We carry out two hot water extractions and a final organic ethanol extraction to gain access to all the bioactive compounds responsible for Reishi’s beneficial properties. Many capsules and supplements are shipped across the world in powder form as it is a more commercially viable way of transporting extracted products. However, our tinctures are prepared on-site at a 1:4 ratio (1g of mushrooms to every 4ml of water). Tinctures have a longer shelf life than capsules, provide a faster absorption rate, enable flexible dosage, and are easy to prepare by simply taking one squeeze of mushroom tincture twice per day either directly under the tongue or into a short glass of water.

This Reishi tincture is made simple and strong, with just three ingredients: our organic mushrooms, purified water and organic alcohol.

Etymology

Etymology Ganoderma (Greek words "Ganos" + "derma") translates to 'shining skin'. The specific epithet lucidum also means 'shining'. Lingzhi, it's Chinese name, (líng + zhī) means "divine fungus".

Folklore

Folklore New evidence suggests use in Neolithic China 6,800 years ago and there was a time when Reishi was said to be reserved for the use of emperors alone.

Origin Native to Europe, Asia and North America. Our Reishi is indigenous to Somerset, originally found in the wild in Wells and then cloned by us in our lab in Bristol, making our Reishi extract the first commercially available native Ganoderma lucidum tincture in the UK.

All about our Organic Reishi Tincture

Fungi Profile

Latin genus name: Ganoderma Lucidum. Known colloquially as the "Queen of Herbs", "mushroom of spiritual potency", and "mushroom of immortality” - has been used in Traditional Chinese Medicine for millennia in part due to its anti-inflammatory and immunomodulating capacity. Reishi is also thought to be renoprotective (protecting kidneys), hepatoprotective (protecting liver), and a powerful nervous system support - widely used in times of stress, anxiety and insomnia.

Scientific Properties

Triterpenes and Polysaccharides are the compounds of interest present in the Reishi mushroom. These are responsible for many of Reishi’s beneficial effects, including its ability to reduce inflammation and help alleviate stress in the brain and beyond.

Health Benefits

Reishi may be beneficial for heart health due to its ability to help maintain healthy cholesterol levels and keep high blood pressure in check. In TCM, Reishi is thought to nourish the heart and quieten the spirit. Clinical trials investigating Reishi's neuropharmacological effects point to its neuroprotective and antidepressive effects and its ability to regulate the nervous system.

As a superior adaptogen, Reishi may also be able to modify our response to stress - helping to calm the mind, relieve anxiety, and promote sleep without causing drowsiness. Reishi also nurtures the endocrine system, adrenals, thyroid, pituitary, and gonadal system, as well as the Central Nervous System. FAQS

How much tincture should I take?

We suggest a daily dosage of 1-2ml. This can be either taken all at once (suggested in the
morning around 15 mins before food) or distributed throughout the morning and afternoon as preferred.

Are tinctures safe to use when pregnant?

Whilst there is some information around the traditional use of Reishi through pregnancy,
there is essentially no modern research into the use of most supplements, including mushrooms, through pregnancy and nursing. It is, understandably, difficult to design studies around medicating pregnant people.

It's generally understood and something that we very much subscribe to, that taking anything through the first trimester should be avoided.

If people want to take supplements at any stage during pregnancy we hope and advise that
they always seek the advice of medical professionals.

How should I consume it?

You can consume your tincture in many ways - be it undiluted or in a drink or food. We
recommend taking your tincture in water or fruit juice, ideally alongside a meal. This method is thought to be the best for absorption. Whatever fits your lifestyle and makes it easy to enjoy, some may even wish to add them into soups, salad dressings or smoothies
for additional medicinal benefits at mealtime.
