It’s finally happened, we’ve teamed up the cacao wizards at Radek’s Chocolate to bring you our small sweet, family friendly and delicious Lion’s Mane bundle. The bundle features the recently launched Lion’s Mane Cacao Drink, the expertly crafted Lion’s Mane chocolate bar and our best selling tincture – Lion’s Mane no less.

Vegan, organic and refined sugar-free, this bundle honours a powerful fungi to which we owe much of our heritage. We grow more Lion’s Mane on our Somerset farm than anyone else in the UK, and for good reason.

Touted for its ability to stimulate neurogenesis and act as act a neuroprotective agent, it may have the ability to protect nerve cells against damage, degeneration, and impairments of function. Given the high density of nerves in our digestive systems, this mega-mushroom can also nourish the gut, fortify the spleen and heal gastrointestinal tract issues.

Made with our 1:4 ratio Lion's Mane extract

Made with ethically sourced cocoa beans grown by farmers respecting human rights, biodiversity and cocoa forestry. Radek's chocolate is made in micro batches which are stone-ground for three days, blending their specially sourced cacao with coconut sugar, cocoa butter, lucuma, lion's mane and vanilla before tempering and finally wrapping the bars.

Fun Fact

In Japan, Hericium erinaceus or ‘yamabushiitake’ was named after the Yamabushi Buddhist Monks – wandering ascetics from the Shugendō spiritual tradition. Buddhist Shaolin monks turned to Lion’s Mane as a meditation aid, believing it improved their concentration and enhanced their life-force energy or “Qi”. Today the Lion’s Mane mushroom is increasingly popular with the biohacker community, seen as an excellent ally for productivity and focus.

ABOUT RADEK'S CHOCOLATE

The Origins

Back in 2008, deep in the heart of Bristol (the source of the very first chocolate bar!), a passion was born. Radek, founder and master chocolate maker, was busy at work while discovering cacao beans for the first time. While putting his skills to use at the award winning vegetarian restaurant, Cafe Maitreya, the cacao beans kept calling. The rest is history! Learning from the exploration of fine cuisines and inventive dishes, Radek gathered his fine-tuned skills and knowledge of the industry. He used them to build the Bristol artisan chocolate brand (and cook the brownies!) which we all remain grateful for to this day. And so deep in his very own Bristol chocolate factory, the magic started to happen!

Inspired by Radek’s passion for travel and love of the planet, Radek’s Chocolate has always strived to source high quality ingredients. They are fair trade, organic where possible and we always buy from trusted suppliers. Radek’s Chocolate is officially organic and certified by OF&G. They are extremely proud to participate in the global movement towards a happier planet. They collaborate with trusted businesses and source locally wherever we can. All their packaging is recyclable or compostable, and they do everything we can to keep prices affordable for the greater good.

We offer the UK's only UK grown organic mushroom tinctures, certified by the Soil Association. All our mushrooms are grown on our organic mushroom farm set in the beautiful green fields of Somerset and we triple extract them with pure water and organic alcohol onsite.

FAQS

How much tincture should I take?

We suggest a daily dosage of 1-2ml. This can be either taken all at once (suggested in the morning around 15 mins before food) or distributed throughout the morning and afternoon as preferred.

How should I consume it?

You can consume your tincture in many ways - be it undiluted or in a drink or food. We recommend taking your tincture in water or fruit juice, ideally alongside a meal. This method is thought to be the best for absorption. Whatever fits your lifestyle and makes it easy to enjoy, some may even wish to add them into soups, salad dressings or smoothies for additional medicinal benefits at mealtime.

Are tinctures safe to use when pregnant?

Whilst there is some information around the traditional use of Reishi through pregnancy, there is essentially no modern research into the use of most supplements, including mushrooms, through pregnancy and nursing. It is, understandably, difficult to design studies around medicating pregnant people.

It's generally understood and something that we very much subscribe to, that taking anything through the first trimester should be avoided.

If people want to take supplements at any stage during pregnancy we hope and advise that they always seek the advice of medical professionals.
